2002 SPRING GALA AT UNK

DR. RODNEY MILLER
(308) 865-8521

The College of Fine Arts and Humanities at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will present their Spring Gala 2002 “Prairie Farewell: A Plain Sung Love Song.” The gala will be in the Miriam Drake Theatre of the Fine Arts Building Thursday, May 2, 2002, at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s gala takes its theme from the recently published Prairie Mosaic, written, edited, and compiled by UNK faculty.

The gala will feature several soloists from the faculty as well as a number of ensembles – Saxathology, the UNK student saxophone quartet, the UNK Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Gary Schaaf, and the Nebraskats, under the direction of Annabell Zikmund. Several faculty and students will also portray generational personalities that illustrate differing times on the plains. Prairie Mosaic, and its predecessor, Platte River Atlas, will be available in the lobby for purchase.
