UNK BAND EXTRAVAGANZA TO FEATURE VETERAN’S SALUTE

UNK-The University of Nebraska at Kearney Band will present their 11th annual Extravaganza on Thursday, Dec. 7, in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.

According to Dr. Neal Schnoor, band director, “This years extravaganza will be truly special because we will offer a salute to the men and women who have served in our armed forces.”

The band will begin the concert with highlights from their Nov. 17 performance for the Nebraska Music Educators Association Convention in Lincoln. Following will be highlights from the “Pride of the Plains” Marching Band’s fall season. Special guest conductor Clark Yanda, a longtime Nebraska music educator and Kearney businessman, and former director of the Submarine Base Navy Band at Pearl Harbor, will conduct the Star Spangled Banner.

The concert will be open to the public free of charge.
