UNK– Six seminars, designed to promote personal and professional development, are being offered in October at College Park in Grand Island through the Learning Edge, a fall seminar series of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Division of Continuing Education. The seminars will be held on October 4, 5, 12, 18, 19, 20 and 27; November 1 and 2.
“The purpose of Learning Edge is to make available the professional and personal development resources found in large cities,” said Dr. Barbara Audley, dean of the Division of Continuing Education at UNK. “The need to be at the ‘cutting edge’ is no less important in rural Nebraska. Personal and professional success mandates continuous learning, and Learning Edge provides a response to this need.”
Topics of these seminars will include personal investing, strategic planning for business, successful grantwriting, maximizing project success, effective communication skills and salesmanship skills.
The presenters for these seminars will include UNK management and marketing professors Dr. Gene Koepke and Stephen Amundson, and UNK communications professor Dr. William Jurma.
