Award-winning author Pamela Smith Hill is making three speaking presentations in Kearney, where she will discuss creative writing and her book “Laura Ingalls Wilder: A Writer’s Life.”
Hill will speak Oct. 6 at the following times and locations:
• 10 a.m. – Merryman Performing Arts Center
• 4 p.m. – UNK Copeland Hall, Room 142
• 7 p.m. – Kearney Public Library
Copies of Hill’s books are available for purchase and will be signed by Hill at the Kearney library presentation.
All speaking appearances are free and open to the public,
She is being hosted by Calvin T. Ryan Library at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Kearney Public Library, University of Nebraska Foundation, Women and Gender Studies and Faculty Senate Artists and Lecturers Committee
In addition to authoring “Laura Ingalls Wilder: A Writer’s Life” and three young adult novels, Hill was editor of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Pioneer Girl: The Annotated Autobiography.”
Hill grew up in the Missouri, 40 miles from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Rocky Ridge Farm, and moved to South Dakota, where she launched her professional writing career. She has taught creative and professional writing at universities in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado. She lives in Portland, where she continues to teach and write.
