Turner – one of country music’s most recognizable hit makers – will perform April 20 at UNK’s Health and Sports Center. Doors open at 5 p.m., opening act Tim Zach and Whiskey Bent play at 6 p.m. with Turner taking the stage at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for UNK students and $25 for the public. All tickets are general admission and on sale now at www.unk.edu/turner. Tickets increase to $25 for UNK students and $30 for the public day of show.

Known for his distinctive baritone voice and traditional country sound, Turner is one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry and has sold more than 12 million records. He has garnered multiple Grammy, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music nominations

Turner’s hits include his platinum-selling debut “Long Black Train,” “Your Man,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “Would You Go with Me,” “All Over Me” and “Time Is Love,” the most played country song of 2012.

His latest album “Deep South” came out in early 2017 and features the No. 1 hit single “Hometown Girl.”

Opening for Turner is central Nebraska-based band Tim Zach and Whiskey Bent. The band’s 2017 album “Blue Collar America” was nominated for album of the year at the Rocky Mountain Country Music Association. Whiskey Bent is known for its hit singles “Every Bar’s Got One,” “Fireflies” and “Like Him.”

The concert is organized and sponsored by Loper Programming and Activities Council.

  1. are all tickets standing? I just had knee surgery and someone told me you have to stand for the whole show? seems weird….

    1. All tickets are general admission, which means no reserved seats. All of the seats in the arena are available to sit in.
