CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Health Science Education Complex – Feb. 17

Exterior utility work is mostly complete, and crews are finishing interior framing and rough-in work.

Interior finishes are beginning to be installed, and furniture selection has also started, said Project Manager Michael Cremers.

Installation of audio and visual equipment for classrooms is also underway.

Work remains on schedule, with completion scheduled for July 1.

About The Project: A collaboration between University of Nebraska Medical Center and University of Nebraska at Kearney, the complex is being built to meet growing demands for primary and rural health care. … UNK and UNMC College of Nursing will expand its bachelor’s of science in nursing and its graduate program for nurse practitioners.
Programs: The UNMC School of Allied Health Professionals will bring to the UNK campus new programs for physician assistants, physical therapists, clinical laboratory scientists, medical nutrition, radiographers and diagnostic medical sonographers.
Features: 14 simulation areas (4 clinical exam rooms, 4 control rooms, 3 simulation rooms, changing room, debriefing, energized radiography), 7 classrooms, 5 labs (anatomy, rehabilitation, musculoskeletal, assessment, task training).
