Lot 32 closed, other adjustments made for Otto Olsen work

The University of Nebraska at Kearney is adjusting parking and traffic flow to accommodate ongoing abatement work and the upcoming demolition of the Otto Olsen building. Lot 32 between Otto Olsen and Randall Hall is closed, effective immediately. That closure is expected to be permanent. Wilma Heinowski retiring from police, parking department after 35 years

New name, new location for UNK Police Department

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney Police Department has a new name and will have a new office. Formerly UNK Police and Parking Services, the department is now UNK Police. Parking will continue to be a responsibility of that office. New parking spaces created for Admissions visitors

Future Lopers now have a new welcome spot on campus, just outside Admissions. With the addition of 13 new “Future Lopers” parking spaces, guests coming to tour campus will have an easier time finding parking – making campus more welcoming for prospective students. The 13 spaces are on the north end of Lot 13, and still require a permit from Admissions. Longtime law enforcement expert Jim Davis new UNK police director

KEARNEY – Jim Davis of Grand Island has been hired as the new director of police and parking services at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He begins his duties June 22. Davis oversees a staff of 10 police officers, as well as UNK community service officers and parking services staff.
