UNK removing four buildings – Otto Olsen, Conrad Hall, east heating plant, Luke & Jake’s

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney campus will look a little different when the 2021-22 school year begins. UNK is removing four vacant buildings this spring and summer as part of its campus master plan. Lot 32 closed, other adjustments made for Otto Olsen work

The University of Nebraska at Kearney is adjusting parking and traffic flow to accommodate ongoing abatement work and the upcoming demolition of the Otto Olsen building. Lot 32 between Otto Olsen and Randall Hall is closed, effective immediately. That closure is expected to be permanent. With move-in underway, Discovery Hall project right on schedule

Youths can explore technology, computer programming at CoderDojos

UPDATE: The CoderDojo event scheduled for March 16 has been canceled. KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Department of Cyber Systems is hosting three CoderDojo events for youths ages 8-17. Sessions are 6-8 p.m. Feb. 17, March 16 and April 20 in Room 110 of UNK’s Otto Olsen building. Youths may attend any number of sessions at no cost. Parents are also welcome. UNK to celebrate childhood education center groundbreaking Friday

The LaVonne Kopecky Plambeck Early Childhood Education Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is the first academic footprint on UNK’s developing University Village development. It will become a model for early childhood education, early childhood educator preparation, and research.
