UNK Golf: Faviola Gonzalez’s blind shot finds mark at UNK

           Faviola Gonzalez was an instant contributor for the UNK women’s golf team last season, recording the sixth-best season stroke average (80.1) in school history among players with 12 or more rounds. Faviola Gonzalez was a senior in high school when Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico in September 2017. “We didn’t have electricity. We didn’t have water. We couldn’t get out of our house for a week,” she said. Gonzalez committed to UNK sight unseen and arrived on campus for the first time in August 2018, a couple weeks before she played in her first tournament for the Lopers. UNK announces unprecedented budget cuts to meet $3.4 million budget gap

KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney Chancellor Doug Kristensen today outlined proposed budget cuts that exceed .4 million, and affect 38 positions across nearly every campus unit. Men’s baseball, golf and tennis will be eliminated. Position eliminations comprise 16 faculty, 2.5 administrative, and 16.5 staff positions.
