Study shows NU, UNK graduates make big impact on Kearney economy

The earnings and spending activities of each University of Nebraska graduating class add $2.4 billion to the state’s economy annually, according to a recently released study. In Legislative District 37, which includes Kearney, Gibbon and Shelton in Buffalo County, these graduates generate $128.1 million in annual economic activity and support 1,100 jobs. UNK Study: Economic impact of Sandhill cranes in central Nebraska is $14.3M

By SARA GIBONEY UNK Communications KEARNEY – A study led by the University of Nebraska at Kearney shows the economic impact of tourism in central Nebraska during the sandhill crane migration was $14.3 million in 2017.
