UNK dance concert features Bohaty’s work, #MeToo movement

KEARNEY – A piece highlighting the #MeToo movement by Noelle Bohaty will be featured at the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s spring dance concert. University Theatre at Kearney and the UNK Dance Program present “Eloquence in Action” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at UNK’s Miriam Drake Theatre. KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney faculty and students will be joined by the Atlantic Piano Duo during the upcoming “Piano Extravaganza.” The concert scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday (April 22) in the Fine Arts Building recital hall features UNK collaborative pianist Jayoung Hong, assistant music professor Beth Mattingly and piano students Seungwon Lee and Kangyoung Ban. World-renowned linguist David Harrison to discuss effort to save endangered languages

KEARNEY – Half the world’s languages are in danger of disappearing this century. David Harrison, a linguist, author and expert in the study of endangered languages, has dedicated his career to documenting these languages in an effort to keep them alive. His work was featured in the Emmy-nominated 2008 documentary film “The Linguists” and he authored the book “The Last Speakers” with National Geographic.
