Updates coming Jan. 1 to University of Nebraska travel policy

Effective Jan. 1, 2021, the University of Nebraska system is making several updates to its travel policy. The systemwide policy applies to all employees traveling on university business. New state law impacts University of Nebraska meal reimbursements

A new state law will take effect Jan. 1, 2021, requiring state agencies, including the University of Nebraska, to reimburse meals on a “per diem” basis while employees are traveling for business. The law, LB381, directs the Nebraska Department of Administrative Services (DAS) to establish a percentage of the federal per diem rate for Nebraska agencies. UNK program provides law enforcement training for rural agencies
