Kearney Symphony Orchestra presenting ‘Traveling the Americas’ on March 7

KEARNEY – Kearney Symphony Orchestra will present its next concert, “Traveling the Americas,” at 7:30 p.m. March 7 in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Fine Arts Recital Hall.

The performance includes works by Leonard Bernstein, Libby Larsen, Astor Piazzolla, Arturo Márquez and Alexander Glazunov. Featured soloists are oboist Heidi Farrell, vocalist and UNK alumna Elizabeth Peters and UNK Concerto/Aria Competition winner Bailey Manhart of Central City, who plays the alto saxophone.

A pre-concert talk is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. that evening in the Fine Arts Building, Room 263.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $10 for UNK faculty and staff, $5 for youths ages 11-18 and free for children 10 and younger and UNK students with a valid ID.
