KEARNEY – The 10th annual New Venture Adventure is Thursday (Oct. 15) at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

One hundred and twelve students from 12 high schools will learn how to become entrepreneurs at the event, in the Nebraskan Student Union Ponderosa Room.

Participating high schools are Ord, Litchfield, Shelton, Overton, Sandhills-Thedford, Pleasanton, Amherst, Central City, Kearney High, Blue Hill, Grand Island Senior High, and Grand Island Northwest.

Students will be divided into teams and instructed to create a business. The teams meet with professional bankers, realtors and other professionals throughout the day. At the end of the event, teams give a brief presentation illustrating the work, promotions, financial figures and other information relating to the development of their business to a panel of judges.

Judges critique each business and choose a champion business. Individuals of that team receive prizes.
