NET Radio hosting ‘Friday Live’ at UNK April 24

KEARNEY – NET Radio will present its live broadcast from the University of Nebraska at Kearney April 24.

“We’re so grateful for the tremendous support from Dr. Tim Farrell and staff of the Department of Music and Performing Arts,” NET General Manager Mark Leonard said. “We have so many great interviews and performances planned that ‘Friday Live’ will extend to 10:30. We invite alumni, students, faculty and the community to be part of the live radio audience.”

Live performers include the Trans-Nebraska players, UNK Choraleers, vocalist Katie Ridder, and Robin Harrell and Doris Winkler from The Lark in Hastings.

“We’re excited for people to learn about the great things happening at UNK and our community,” said Farrell, chair of the Department of Music and Performing Arts.

Denise Christensen of the Merryman Performing Arts Center will preview the upcoming “The Church Basement Ladies” performance, vocal and instrumental faculty at UNK will discuss upcoming activities, and the Hastings Community Theatre will preview “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do.”

Campus and community members are invited to be part of the studio audience. Coffee and refreshments will be served beginning at 8 a.m. Leonard and other NET staff will greet attendees. RSVP to cannondl@unk.edu or 308.865.8618.
