The 3rd Annual Loper Color Stampede is set for April 12, and registration is now open for this fun 5k run/walk.
The Stampede is a fundraising event for UNK Athletics; all proceeds go to support scholarships.
The race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Ron & Cope Stadium at Foster Field. Cost is $35 per person or $30 if you sign up prior to March 23. The fee includes a t-shirt, goodie bag and post-race refreshments.
For the second year in a row, a kids (10 and under) 1k fun run will be held at 8 a.m. prior to the main race. Cost is $5.
The Stampede is fun run/walk focused on fun. At each kilometer mark, there will be a color station that will feature a designated colored powder. As participants run or walk through the color station, they will be sprayed with a different color.
By the end of the run, each participant will be their very own running or walking work of art.
