Jon Watts headshotKEARNEY – Jon Watts, director of business services and accounts payable at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, earned the CASP designation from the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS).

NACAS is a nonprofit higher education association serving auxiliary services, student support services and ancillary services professionals at 4-year and 2-year colleges and universities.

Certified Auxiliary Services Professional is a four-year certification for aspiring auxiliary services professionals. It is the only certification that demonstrates recipients have met a high standard of excellence, as defined by experts in the industry, and that they have the skills necessary to be a director of auxiliary services.

CASP affirms the recipient’s expertise in management, leadership, marketing, student development and operations.

As the director of business services at UNK, Watts is responsible for organizing, directing and evaluating campus procurement activities and contracts.

Watts works in UNK’s Division of Business and Finance and provides fiscal, budget and business advice to all levels of administration. He is responsible for leading and managing all activities of Business Services, including the university mailroom and purchasing.

His role also includes oversight of the auxiliary operations of UNK Dining Services, Antelope Bookstore and The College Store.

Watts was promoted to director of business services in July 2013. He worked the previous four years as assistant director of business services at UNK.
