UNK hosts NSBA state marching band contest Saturday

KEARNEY – More than 1,800 band members from 20 Nebraska high schools will compete in the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association Marching Contest on Saturday (Oct. 25) at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Participating bands will perform at Foster Field.

Judges will rate the bands based on individual musical performance, ensemble musical performance, individual visual performance, ensemble visual performance, visual general effect and music general effect.

Percussion and auxiliary judges will provide comments for each band.

Each band will receive a score based on a total of 100 possible points. The final score is the total of the music score, visual score divided in half and the two effect scores.
