Sergio Ceja, Cacia Lyon named UNK Homecoming royalty

King, queen reign from Lexington, Giltner

 KEARNEY – Sergio Ceja of Lexington and Cacia Lyon of Giltner were crowned homecoming king and queen Thursday at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The two will be recognized during halftime of UNK’s football game on Saturday against Missouri Southern State at 3 p.m. and oversee remaining homecoming week festivities, including the parade at 10 a.m. Saturday in downtown Kearney.

Ceja (pronounced Say-Ha) and Lyon were among eight finalists selected by a student vote, with a second round of voting determining the winners.

Lyon is a senior majoring in organization communication with a support track in family studies. She is currently senior resident assistant for Nester Hall South and has been a resident assistant for three years. Lyon is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, Phi Eta Sigma, Christian Student Fellowship and is secretary of community relations for UNK Student Government.

Ceja is a junior majoring in elementary education. He is currently public relations chair for Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, president for Loper Liaisons, and is on the Executive Cabinet for Student Government. This summer, he helped incoming students register for classes and get to know campus as a New Student Enrollment Leader.
