Pi Kappa Alpha Haunted House returns Oct. 24

Haunted House StockKEARNEY – Zombies, freaks and ghoulish creatures will have people trembling and screaming at the annual Pi Kappa Alpha Haunted House.

From 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 24) Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity members at the University of Nebraska at Kearney are putting on a haunted house that will benefit the Mid-Nebraska Food Bank.

“It’s just a fun thing for UNK students, and it’s also family friendly,” said Nick Knudson, a senior construction management major and Pi Kappa Alpha member. “It’s a time that families can bring their kids to campus.”

The haunted house features a zombie apocalypse, freak show, the hallway to hell and the infamous dot room, according to Pi Kappa Alpha chapter president Joshua Schuman, a senior organizational communication major from Imperial.

Admission is for the public and free to UNK students.

Last week, Pi Kappa Alpha teamed with area Boy Scouts and went trick-or-treating for canned food items, which they will donate to the Mid-Nebraska Food Bank.

“Teaming up with a community organization like the Boy Scouts is really cool because we get to be involved with youth in community,” said Knudson of Norfolk.

Canned food and non-perishable items also will be accepted at the haunted house, which takes place at University Residence North Pod C.
