‘LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND’ THEME FOR CHOIR CONCERT SUNDAY, FEB. 24, AT UNK

The Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, Collegium and the Choraleers at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will perform a combined concert with the theme “Love Makes the World Go Round” on Sunday, Feb. 24, in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

The concert, under the direction of UNK music professor Dr. David Bauer, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

Among the featured performers are Andrew Tellus of Cozad on the guitar, performing “Say Love” by John Dowland and arranged by Patrick Liebergen. Chan Young Yu of Seoul, South Korea, baritone, and Fred Marble of Kearney, tenor, singing “Do You Hear the People Sing?” by Claude-Michel Schonberg.

Ashley Kenny of Central City, soprano, will sing “Come to My Garden” by Lucy Simon. Kory Reeder of Kearney, double bass, and Joel Montez of Lexington, vibraphone and suspended cymbal, will perform “The Colors of My Life” by Cy Coleman. Hillary Fick of Wahoo and Kristina Price of Hickman, both on b-flat clarinets, along with Bert Ogg of Madrid on the bass clarinet, will perform on a Mozart selection.

UNK associate professor of music Dr. Ting-Lan Chen, violin, and UNK assistant professor of music Dr. Noah Rogoff, cello, will be featured in “Oh My Love’s Like a Red, Red Rose” by Rene Clausen.

A “Les Miserables Medley” will be performed by the UNK Choraleers. Featured vocalists will be Elizabeth Liebermann of Omaha, Megan Decker of Beatrice, Alex Rudolph of Ogallala, Kesston Fink of Hebron, Sarah Hild of Kearney, Rachel Harvey of Scottsbluff, Michael Cantrell of Grand Island, Whitney Wagner of Holdrege and Amanda Gray of Holdrege.
