“Vault Survey” is the opening exhibit for the University of Nebraska at Kearney Walker Gallery.

The show, which is up now through Friday, Sept. 21, features paintings, prints and mixed-media from MA and MAE thesis exhibitions presented by UNK students from the 1970s to the 1990s.

“It was a practice for exhibiting students to leave one work to be added to the art department collection,” said John Fronczak, Walker Art Gallery director.

“In additions to the master’s thesis works, there is one notable work by the late J.A. Eisentrager, a long-time University of Nebraska-Lincoln art professor, and influential player in the Nebraska arts community,” Fronczak said.

Artists whose works are featured in the “Vault Survey” exhibition are listed below, alphabetically, by last name: John Chulpsky (Kappa Pi Exhibition, 1970), J. A. Eisentrager, Paul Fell (Thesis Exhibition, 1973), Penny L. Frazier (Thesis Exhibition, 1984), Susan Hanna (Thesis Exhibition, 1977), J. B. Hoye (Thesis Exhibition, 1973), Pat Jones (Thesis Exhibition, 1996, Gary Kasson (Kappa Pi Exhibition, 1967), Bradley A. Koehn (Thesis Exhibition, 1986), Nadine McHenry (Thesis Exhibition, 1975), Becky Meyers (Thesis Exhibition, 1991), Peter Paul, Hiroyuti Tajira and Bruce Wyman (Thesis Exhibition, 1979).
