Poker, Charades, Dictionary and Pass the Slipper will be played during the old-fashioned game night on Tuesday, March 27, at the historic Frank House on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus.

The game night, which will begin at 7 p.m., was developed by UNK students Angelica Calderon of Grand Island and Amy Hostler of Alda. Both are UNK business administration majors. Calderon is employed as a work-study student at the Frank House.

“Many UNK students are not aware of the history that is involved with the house,” Calderon said. “We want to provide community residents, and UNK students and faculty, an awareness of the Frank House and to support its mission.” Games including Forfeit, The Name Game and Charades will also be played throughout the night.

“These games were played in the 1890s, when the Franks lived in the house,” Hostler said. “They are considered Victorian Parlor Games, and are easy and fun.” Guests will tour the historic house as they move to play a different game in each room.

Individuals ages 15 and older are eligible to attend, and there is a limit of 40 people per night. The events are free and open to the public, with a $3 suggested donation for the Frank House. Refreshments will be available.

Reservations can be made by contacting Calderon at 308.383.9717 or calderona2@lopers.unk.edu, or Hostler at 308.383.1525 or hostleras@lopers.unk.edu. Individuals must provide a name, contact number and number of people attending. ADA accommodations will be made upon request.
