VISUAL COMMUNICATION AND DESIGN STUDENTS WIN 19 ADDY AWARDS

Visual Communication and Design students from the University of Nebraska at Kearney recently took home 19 ADDY awards, including “Best in Show” in the student competition.

The competition was sponsored by the American Advertising Federation and National AD 2. A total of 13 students earned four gold awards, 14 silver awards and a “Best of Show” award at the state level. The award winning projects will be forwarded to district competition later this month. The “Best in Show” winner at the National ADDY Awards competition will receive a cash prize.

UNK award winner Braeden Tyma of Grand Island received the “Best of Show” for his “16th Street” clothing tags. Tyma also received a gold award for the tags and a silver award for an “Aquarium Instructions” poster.

Other gold medal award winners were Alice Berryman of Malcolm for “Drip Coffee” packaging, Amanda Olson of Stuart for “The Next Step” poster and Kyle Sayler of Kearney for “The VCD Gang” exhibition promotion. Berryman and Saylor also received silver awards, and Olson received two silver awards.

Silver award winners also include Logan Bartels of Tobias, Liz Hudec of Fontanelle, Liz White of Omaha and Lacie Wiese of Doniphan.

Kyle Hauer of Merino, Colo., and Amanda Olson of Stuart both received two silver awards, and Kristin White of Lexington received three silver awards.
