Christopher Gugel, a senior music performance and education major from Amherst, will play the saxophone during his Senior Recital at the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Saturday, April 9.

The recital, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall, which is located in the UNK Fine Arts Building. Gugel will perform works by composers Beethoven, Bach and Chopin.

Gugel, who is a student of Dr. David Nabb, a UNK professor of music, will be accompanied on the piano by Dr. Marilyn Musick and Dr. Nathan Buckner.

Gugel, the son of Randy and Sue Gugel of Amherst, was a Music Teachers National Association national competition division alternate in 2008 and 2009. In addition, he has performed in the UNK Honors Recital in 2009 and 2010.
