Dr. Srivatsa “Sri” Seshadri has been named director of the master’s in business administration program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Dr. Seshadri is a professor in the UNK Department of Marketing and Management Information Systems. A member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and NASBITE International, a professional organization for the global business community, Dr. Seshadri is also a Certified Global Business Professional. He has taught at the American University in Bulgaria since 2006, initially while on sabbatical and later during summer sessions.

He replaces Dr. David Palmer, who held the position for the past five years. Under the leadership of Dr. Palmer, a human services track was added to the MBA program and the fast track MBA was implemented to better met the needs of professionals. This streamlined AACSB accredited program allows students to complete the MBA within a year-and-a-half or possibly two, and to do so economically.

“Dr. Seshadri will build on this solid foundation by bringing a strong marketing orientation to the program,” said Dr. Tim Burkink, dean of the College of Business and Technology at UNK. “Besides enhancing recruitment, we will be exploring options for additional programming to meet the needs in our market, such as short programs and certificates.”

As the MBA director, Dr. Seshadri will focus on building strong relationships with current students, alumni of the program, the business community and industries in the region.

Dr. Seshadri holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Mysore University in India and earned his Ph.D in marketing from the University of Arkansas in 1993, the same year he joined the UNK faculty.
