Putting a Face on Migration from Rural Mexico 

Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m.
Copeland Hall, Room 142

Dr. Jeffrey Smith
Associate Professor of Geography
Kansas State University

Dr. Smith’s lecture will present material on current U.S. immigration policy in addition to background
information on U.S. immigration from Mexico and Latin America.  A second part of the lecture will put
a face on Mexican emigration by sharing the story of three representative individuals who are classic
examples of the different types of migrants leaving rural Mexico.  This presentation is open to the general
public.
