UNK- An all-expense-paid trip to Atlanta was more than a vacation for University of Nebraska at Kearney student Leslie Prelle who attended a summer economics seminar.

Prelle, who is a junior finance major from Kenesaw, was one of only 60 students nationwide invited to attend the seminar, and one of a lesser number who received scholarship assistance to attend, according to Marsha Yeagley, UNK marketing and MIS senior lecturer.

The seminar was sponsored by the Foundation for Economic Education. The foundation covered the seminar tuition and all of Prelle’s living expenses in Atlanta for the week. In addition, she received a $400 scholarship from the Richard Seth Staley Educational Foundation in Seattle to pay for her travel expenses.

Prelle is a member of Gamma Beta Sigma, the international honor society for business majors.
