UNK– Omicron Delta Epsilon, an economics international honor society at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, has
initiated five new members.

“Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world’s largest academic honor societies,” said Dr. Craig Marxsen, UNK Omicron Delta Epsilon adviser. “The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon are recognizing scholastic attainment, honoring outstanding achievements in economics, and establishing closer ties between students and faculty in economics within and among colleges and universities.”

“One member serves on the UNK College of Business Student Advisory Board,” Dr. Marxsen said. “The members also represent Omicron Delta Epsilon at various events on campus.”

To become a member, students must have completed 12 hours of economics courses, have a “B” average in those courses, and have achieved an overall grade point average (GPA) of a “B” or better.

“Students do not have to be economics majors, but they must have a genuine interest in economics,” Dr. Marxsen said.
