UNK- The Industrial Distribution Program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney has been named among the Top University Sales Programs in the nation by The University Sales Education Foundation (USEF).
UNK was the only Nebraska institution to make the international list, which details the top 41 university programs and is published as a supplement to the April 2009 issue of “Selling Power” magazine.
Dr. Don Envick, professor of industrial technology, established the four-year industrial distribution degree program at UNK. Since its inception, it has become the third largest program in the nation. To date, there have been nearly 600 graduates from the program, and graduates have had a consistent 99 percent placement rate.
“Fewer than one percent of all colleges and universities are on the 2009 Top University Sales Programs list,” Dr. Envick said. “The key to our success is a driven faculty, staff and student body who believe in the ID program vision, have a passion for success and know we can be the best.”
The UNK Industrial Distribution program is accredited by the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT) and is one of only 55 accredited baccalaureate level programs in the nation and the only one in Nebraska.
“UNK is leading the way for the state in sales and education,” said Jeanne Frawley, USEF director. “A true national differentiator for the UNK program is the focus on technical sales.”
By achieving international Top University Sales Program status, UNK students and faculty gain access to USEF resources, events, program involvement and the opportunity to connect with corporations. They will also have access to the HR Chally Group’s University Assessment Program, whose results provide students with insight into positive matches for internships and permanent career positions.
