The University of Nebraska at Kearney Nebraskats Show Choir will celebrate “40 years of Song and Dance” this weekend (April 5 and 6), concluding with a 3 p.m. concert Sunday in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The anniversary weekend will welcome back Nebraskats alumni. The reunions are held every five years. Former directors Dr. Annabell Zikmund and Eileen (McDole) Jahn are coordinating the weekend’s events. Visitors will be invited to take a guided tour of campus and to attend choir rehearsals. Former members will also be invited to perform pieces during the concert on Sunday. The current Nebraskats members and the alumni will perform. The alumni will join current Nebraskats for a group performance, as well.
The concert is free and open to the public.
“We have seven members from the original (1967-1968) ensemble who have confirmed they are coming,” Jahn said.            Special 40th anniversary t-shirts are available for purchase through the Department of Music and Performing Arts.
