Five University of Nebraska at Kearney students will be presented the Student Alumni Foundation Outstanding Senior Awards at the annual Mortar Board Honors Convocation Saturday, April 23, according to Jim Rundstrom, executive director of the UNK Alumni Association.

Award recipients include: Brette Covington, a music theatre major from NorthPlatte;  Bradley Bohn, an exercise science and pre-medical major from Gibbon; Matt Breitkreutz, a middle grades education major from Burwell;  Rachel Gerdes, a business administration major from Johnson; and Carrie Spresser, a psychology and organizational communication major from Atwood, Kan.

The Outstanding Senior Award recognizes seniors for excellence in scholarship and leadership, as well as involvement in, and dedication to, UNK and the Kearney community.

The awards have been presented each spring by the Student Alumni Foundation since the group was founded in 1981.
