The University of Nebraska at Kearney has announced the recipients of the O.K. Bouwsma and Don Welch Family Scholarships for 2005.

The O.K. Bouwsma Scholarship was created by a $200,000 gift by an anonymous donor. The award was named after Dr. O.K. During his 37-year stint at UNL, Dr. Bouwsma was considered a leading scholar and noted as an outstanding teacher, which later earned him the Outstanding Nebraskan faculty award.
