UNK’s 5K Walk, Run Brings in More Than $2,000

The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s 3rd Annual FUN 5K Walk/Run has raised more than $2,000 for the Student Leadership Scholarship Fund.

“The new race route on campus seemed to be a hit, and we look forward to next year, as we plan to improve the end of the route even more,” said Jami Schaffnitt, coordinator of student activities at UNK.

Local businesses donated more than $1,000 in cash and merchandise to use as prizes for the approximately 275 community and student participants.
