Negotiating salary and benefits is the subject of a Career Development Workshop set for 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the Kearney Public Library.

The workshop, titled Show Me the Money, is cosponsored by the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Kearney Public Library.

“These workshops are held in a great place, because the Kearney Public Library has so many resources for job seekers,” said Michelle Fleig-Palmer, workshop presenter. Fleig-Palmer is the Dual Career Program director at UNK.

Dr. Karen Thompson, an expert in human resources issues, will be the guest speaker. She noted that the workshop will be divided into two parts. “In the first part, you will learn techniques for successfully negotiating salary and benefits,” Dr. Thompson said. “The second part will be open for questions relating to résumés, cover letters, etc. In addition, the library has books available for further guidance.”

Show Me the Money
is one in a series of career development workshops being held the second Monday of each month. The program is free and open to the public.
