The University of Nebraska at Kearney will be closed and classes cancelled Friday, June 11, as directed by Nebraska Gov. Mike Johanns, in observance of the National Day of Mourning for former President Ronald Reagan.

In making the announcement, UNK Chancellor Doug Kristensen said: “I realize this may cause some difficulty in rescheduling classes and events. I appreciate everyone’s assistance in accommodating these declarations.”

Anyone with questions about university activities can call 308.865.8469 to get confirmation on events or to determine alternate scheduling. Students enrolled in summer classes are asked to check in advance with their instructors.

Summer Advising and Enrollment activities on June 11 will be held as scheduled. Parents and new students already scheduled to participate in the Summer Advising and Enrollment Friday should proceed as originally planned.
