The Alpha Phi social sorority at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will sponsor its First Annual Yard Sale to benefit Cardiac Care.

The sale will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, April 23, and from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, in the courtyard adjacent to the Alpha Phi house, 1700 University Drive.

“There will be a variety of items, from clothing to exercise equipment,” said Joy Iromuanya, a UNK student from Lincoln. “All proceeds go to Cardiac Care.”

For more than 50 years, Alpha Phi has focused on heart disease and cardiac care as philanthropic priorities, Iromuanya said. The Alpha Phi Foundation helps fund research and educational programs that support cardiac health. These efforts help health care professionals learn more about the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease – the number one killer of women in North America.
