MONA presents “Rebirth of the Minden Opera House” Tuesday, January 14, 7:00 p.m.

This program will explore the recent and past history of the Minden Opera  House. Rob Raun, from Minden, will present the history of the Opera House.  He will also comment from the owners’ perspective on the design process  and the interaction with the architect.

Scott Stober with Wilkins Hinrichs  Stober Architects, L.L.C. will present the design process and discuss the  intricacies of renovating a 100-year old building. This event is held in  conjunction with the A is for ARchiTecture exhibition at MONA.

Scott Stober graduated in 1986 from Oklahoma State University with a  Masters in Architecture. He spent several years in New England working on  projects such as the AT& T Office building, Syracuse, New York and  Princeton Forrestal Center Mixed Use Development, Princeton, New Jersey.  He is currently a partner at Wilkins, Hinrichs, Stober Architects (formerly  Jack D. Wilkins & Associates) of Kearney and has been involved in many  projects in the tri-city area including Platte Valley State Bank, Minden Opera House, and UNK’s Copeland Hall. While in Kearney, Scott has continued  to design buildings that fit into their context, yet make a statement of  their own about their function and users who inhabit them.
