Concerts-On-The-Platte Series Presents Works of Darleen Mitchell

The Concerts-on-the-Platte series will showcase Darleen Mitchell, University of Nebraska at Kearney music and performing arts professor, on December 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

During the composition recital, Mitchell’s works written especially for members of the UNK music faculty will be premiered. Selections to be performed include Three Medieval Carols, The Dimensions of Ambient Night, Reflections, Jubilus, Antiphonal Dances, O Dayspring and Floribus Tonorum.

UNK Department of Music and Performing Arts Faculty members performing will be Nathan Buckner, Franziska Nabb, David Nabb, Valerie Cisler, Jason Edwards, Darleen Mitchell and Gary Schaff, who will direct the advanced dance class. Also performing is Bob Mitchell, music faculty member from Southeast Community College in Beatrice.

In addition to faculty contributions, UNK students Allegra Woolen, Ord senior, and Michael Schlake, Red Cloud graduate student, will also perform during the concert.

Concerts-on-the-Platte series is sponsored by the UNK Department of Music and Performing Arts. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
