UNK Band Day Set for September 28

The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Band Day will showcase 29 bands as they parade through the streets of downtown Kearney. The marching festivities are scheduled for Saturday, September 28 at 9 a.m.

UNK Band Day is one of the premier marching band competitions in the state of Nebraska. Participants this year include UNK, 24 high schools and four junior high school bands. The parade will begin at Central Avenue and Railroad Street and proceed north to Central Avenue and 27th Street. From there, the parade will turn west toward the UNK campus. Trophies for contest winners will be presented at halftime of the UNK vs. Highlands Ranch football game that afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. at Foster Field.
