Marguerite Tassi, UNK English professor, has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute grant. Fifteen recipients nationwide were chosen from 200 applicants for this project, which includes a $6,000 stipend. The project, “Shakespeare’s Playhouse: Inside and Out”, meets for five weeks, first at Staunton, Va., at the reconstructed Blackfriars Theater, and then in London at the Globe Theater. The group will work with professional actors and institute faculty to stage plays in period theaters.
