Chuck Rowling, a junior from the University of Nebraska at Kearney majoring in Political Science and History, has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Truman Scholarship. Rowling, from Kearney, will travel to Denver, Colo. on March 8 for an intensive interview. Approximately 60 Truman Scholars from across the nation will be selected by mid-March.

The purpose of the Truman Scholarship Foundation is to find and recognize college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the non-profit or advocacy sectors, education, or elsewhere in the public service; and to provide them with financial support for graduate study, leadership training, and fellowship with other students who are committed to making a difference through public service.
