The Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will host the 45th Annual Conference of the Association of College and University Biology Educators (ACUBE) October 11-13. The theme is “Biology in the Light of Evolution.”

“This conference allows biology faculty from universities across the nation to compare curriculums and how to improve the teaching of biology on the undergraduate level,” said Dr. Charles Bicak, department chair of biology.

Paul Tebbel, director of the Lillian Annette Rowe Audubon Sanctuary, will present the opening session, “The Biology of the Sandhill Cranes,” on Thursday, October 11, at 8 p.m. in the Mary Morse Lecture Hall, Bruner Hall of Science.

“The public is invited to attend the opening session and the poster and paper presentations on Friday and Saturday,” said Bicak.
