UNK HOMECOMING FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has announced eight 2001 Homecoming finalists.

The royalty will be crowned following the Lip Sync contests at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11 at Cushing Coliseum. The king and queen will be crowned by 2000 royalty, Brett Wetton and Chara Howard.

Royalty finalists are listed below alphabetically by hometown:

Gibbon: Ryan Samuelson is the son of Judy Samuelson and the late Curt Samuelson of Gibbon. Ryan is representing Sigma Phi Epsilon. He has served as Student Body President and University Board of Regents Representative during the last two years. He is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Phi Beta Lambda.

Kearney: Molly Lungrin is the daughter of Dick and Carol Lungrin of Kearney. She is representing Alpha Phi sorority. Molly is involved in the sorority, Campus Diplomats, Chancellors Ambassadors, Student Senate Director of Community Relations and Student Alumni Foundation. She also serves as Panhellenic Director of Public Relations.

Omaha: Colin Caldwell is the son of Steven and Valerie Caldwell of Omaha. He is representing Ph Kappa Alpha. Caldwell is the vice president of Inter Fraternity Council and also vice president of Great Plains Region for Pi Kappa Alpha.

Omaha: Chris Davis is the son of Dave Davis and Ellen Hall of Omaha. He is representing Centennial Towers East. He served as a Resident Advisor for three years. Davis is an Art Education major.

Omaha: Jen Gohr is the daughter of Jerry and Linda Gohr of Omaha. She is a member of the UNK Diplomats, Chancellors Ambassadors, Honors Program, Mortar Board, Rho Lambda and Phi Eta Sigma. She is a tutor at UNK and was a Rho Chi coordinator for UNK Panhellenic Council. She is a respite care provider for Good Samaritan Hospital. She is representing Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

Omaha: Erich Hover is the son of Ed and Jerrie Hover of Omaha. Erich is representing the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC). He is the president of IFC. He is also the vice president of Sigma Phi Epsilon and a ChancellorÕs Ambassador. He is a FRIENDS volunteer, a child mentoring program.

Papillion: Melissa Arch is the daughter of Dave Arch and Sue Ensz of Papillion and Terry Dolnicek and Carol Englund, of Ralston. Arch is a Resident Advisor at Centennial Towers West (CTW). She also serves as an Intramural Supervisor and is a member of the Campus Crusade. Melissa is representing CTW.

Rosemount, MN: Jamin Mrkvicka is the daughter of Arch and Suzie Mrkvicka of Rosemount, MN. She is representing Mantor/Case/Martin Halls. Jamin is a Resident Advisor, President of Student Social Work Organization, Vice President of Criminal Justice Club, Historian of Mortar Board and member of Phi Alpha Social Work Honorary. She serves on the planning team at the Newman Center and also was a member of the Summer Advising and Enrollment Staff.
