COMPOSITION RECITAL

UNK- Darlene Mitchell, University of Nebraska at Kearney faculty composer, will present a Lecture-Recital of her work on Feb. 7. The recital will begin at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The program will feature both new and experimental music. The music is from the classical genre but has new and unusual sounds. Solo pieces will be performed by the tuba, flute and trumpet. Also included in the recital will be an ensemble piece for several wind instruments.

Faculty, artists and students will be featured during the recital. Those participating in the recital will be Emily Balcetis (saxophone), Ron Crocker (percussion), Jason Edwards (clarinet), Heidi Geiswein (clarinet), Spencer Hansen (trumpet), Jonathan Jaworski (trombone), Robert Mitchell (tuba), Franziska Nabb (flute), James Payne (trumpet), Sarah Ponder (french horn) and Michaela Tomkins (clarinet).
